Karoline Bax, Ph.D.

I am a passionate and driven researcher working in the field of sustainable, biodiversity, and climate finance and a recipient of the 2024 Lamfalussy Research Fellowship of the European Central Bank (ECB).

 

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Trento, Italy. Prior to that, I received a B.Sc. in General Management and a M.Sc. in Finance from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, Germany.

I have been engaged in numerous projects examining different aspects of assets with specific ESG ratings.  The ultimate goal of my previous research was to determine whether assets with comparable ESG scores share common risk characteristics and contributions to systemic risk and possible spillovers, which can then be reliably applied in asset pricing, risk management and portfolio analysis.
